RLUSD Receives A2 and P-1 Ratings: What Moody’s Ratings Mean
In a statement dated October 27, 2026, Moody’s assigned RLUSD long-term deposit ratings of A2 and short-term deposit ratings of P-1. The scope is limited to the token natively issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum.
On the agency’s scale, A2 is in the middle tier of the A category, which is associated with low credit risk. P-1 indicates a superior ability to repay short-term obligations. These are credit opinions, not guarantees of market price.
The analysis considers reserves, their custody, liquidity, and redemption terms. According to Moody’s, the reserves are predominantly short-term U.S. government assets and cash.
The two-business-day redemption period at par requires the holder to be an eligible institutional client, onboarded to the service, and to submit a valid order. Holders do not have direct ownership of the reserves; an issuer bankruptcy could delay payment beyond that period.
Market perspective: on October 28 at 12:00 UTC, Binance Spot showed RLUSD at 1.0014 USDT (−0.03% in 24 hours) and XRP at 1.3248 USDT (+1.67%). The rating provides a risk benchmark; it does not demonstrate new capital inflows or, by itself, explain XRP’s price movement.
