The Electrum wallet just got hit by a major issue! Versions before 4.8.3 had a highly dangerous vulnerability: when you used the RBF feature to speed things up by increasing the transaction fee, hackers could tamper with the transaction history and trick you into signing a transaction that sends Bitcoin straight to their wallets. The worst part? The fake wallet address could be made to look exactly like the last 4 characters of the real one. Let your guard down for a second and your assets could be gone!
