🏦 JPMorgan’s Bitcoin outlook: Will it outperform stocks and gold over the next decade?
$BTC A new report on JPMorgan’s outlook says the bank expects Bitcoin to outperform stocks, bonds, and gold over the next decade — a long-term view, not a prediction for this week’s price.
What does the report say? (Facts)
• The bank assumes Bitcoin’s annual volatility will be around 55% — compared with 18% for large U.S. stocks and 17.2% for gold
• In the downside scenario, the bank puts the chance of an annual loss at around 11.2% — so the path isn’t a straight line up
• Bitcoin is currently around 36% below its all-time high, set in October 2025, according to the report
Why does this matter?
• Because the outlook comes from the world’s biggest bank, not a crypto influencer — which in itself signals that institutions are starting to treat Bitcoin as a portfolio asset, not a fringe one
• At the same time, though, the report itself acknowledges that high volatility is the price — and the downside scenario is there in writing, not hidden
One point that needs to be made clear:
• This is a ten-year outlook, not a buy signal for today. The market is waiting for tomorrow’s Fed decision this week, and the long-term outlook doesn’t cancel out short-term volatility.
• The report summarizing the outlook suggested an allocation of around 5% of a portfolio for those willing to take on high risk — that’s the report’s view, not our advice.
Bottom line: The long-term institutional outlook has become more positive, but the road from here to ten years from now will be marked by volatility, just like what we’re seeing this week.
