How common is this in the crypto sector?
ā¢ Unfortunately, this is one of the most common methods of stealing crypto.
How this method works ?
ā¢ It's actually quite simple : if your wallet addresses are published due to Crypto exchange data leaks, or because you enter them on dubious sites, or in Giveaways, or you click on a spoof/phishing mail in your e-mail which is not really from your broker YOU COULD BE ALREADY IN DANGER.
ā¢ Because the fraudsters can see now your wallet addresses in this ways, they now create wallet addresses with the same beginning and end as your wallet addresses.
After this they send smaller crypto amounts (mostly in the penny range) to your wallet addresses & wait.
ā¢ Now they simply hope and wait for YOU to be careless for a moment, copy out only one address based on your wallet history and compare ONLY the beginning and end of this address.š“š¤
ā¢ AND FROM THE MOMENT YOU CLICK ON SEND, YOUR MONEY IS IN THE HANDS OF THE SCAMMERS.āļø

How can I protect myself from this ā
ā¢It's very simple: just check who the sender of your emails is, NEVER enter your wallet addresses in āGiveawaysā, and never share them anywhere.
