In 2009, "James Howells" from Britain was passionate about technology...
He downloaded the "Bitcoin" software on an old laptop and started experimenting with mining.
He collected 8,000 Bitcoins, which at the time were worth just a small amount of dollars.
Years passed... and he forgot about it.
In 2013, while cleaning his room, he threw away the laptop (with the hard drive that had his wallet).
Months later, he heard that Bitcoin's price had reached thousands of dollars...
He ran to the dump to search for it — but unfortunately, the device had disappeared among thousands of tons of garbage.
Today, the 8,000 Bitcoins are worth over 400 million dollars!
And "James" is still trying to convince the government to give him a permit to dig in the dump 😅
