According to Odaily, cryptocurrency advocate Paul Atkins has officially been sworn in as the Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Industry insiders expect significant changes in the landscape of cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) as Atkins will oversee the implementation of crypto ETF-related matters. His responsibilities include the physical creation and redemption of spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, staking spot Ethereum ETFs, and reviewing numerous applications related to cryptocurrency ETFs.
Previously, Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas noted that over 70 crypto ETFs are awaiting SEC review this year, covering a range of assets including XRP, LTC, SOL, Dogecoin, and various crypto derivatives.
