🐴 The quantum Trojan horse is already in motion… and the SEC knows it. The war against quantum computing has begun. The SEC has already chosen its weapon, Q-Day is approaching: Is your crypto ready to survive the quantum era?.
The SEC presented on September 3 its "battle horse" to face the quantum threat: the Post-Quantum Financial Infrastructure Framework (PQFIF). And it’s not just a statement of intentions… it’s a roadmap to protect the global financial system before the dreaded "Q-Day" arrives.
🔐 What does the PQFIF propose?
• Replace vulnerable algorithms like ECDSA (used in Bitcoin) with ML-DSA, a quantum-resistant algorithm endorsed by NIST.
• Wrap blockchain APIs with quantum-secure layers, without breaking compatibility with public and private networks.
• Protection drills in institutional wallets processing up to $50 billion daily.
⚠️ Why does this matter? The SEC warns that a cryptographically relevant quantum computer could break the security that protects trillions of dollars in digital assets, creating systemic risk and loss of trust. And some experts believe that “Q-Day” could arrive as soon as 2028.
