【Coinbase Customer Data Leaked! No Funds Lost, but Users Should Be Cautious ⚠️】
🔥 加入X先生的粉丝群聊跟进行情 Security risks at crypto exchanges aren’t limited to whether wallets can be hacked—third-party service providers can also become potential points of entry.
📢 On October 27, Coinbase said that a security incident at third-party data analytics provider Amplitude affected the contact information of some Coinbase users.
Coinbase emphasized that there is currently no evidence that its own systems were accessed without authorization, and no user assets were affected. The company is notifying affected users and reporting the incident to regulators as required.
But that doesn’t mean there’s no risk at all.
📩 Once users’ contact information is exposed, bad actors could exploit it to send fake customer support emails or forged security alerts, or even impersonate exchange employees to trick users into clicking phishing links or handing over their account details.
The number of people affected and the specific information that was exposed have not yet been disclosed.
🛡️ What should ordinary users do now?
Don’t trust anyone claiming to be Coinbase support, don’t click links from unknown sources, and never share your password, verification codes, or wallet recovery phrase with anyone. If you receive a suspicious notice, be sure to verify it through official channels.
📌 This incident is a reminder that just because assets weren’t stolen doesn’t mean personal information is safe. When using crypto platforms, pay attention not only to the security of your funds, but also to protecting your personal information and guarding against account scams. Stay informed about the market, but never overlook account security.
