The SuperTrend indicator is still showing a clear bearish signal above the candlesticks at $11.86. 2️⃣ Moving averages (EMA): The price is still trading below the EMA 7 (at 10.67) and EMA 25 (at 11.65), which means selling pressure is ongoing and there’s no safe entry signal yet. 3️⃣ Momentum indicator (Williams %R): It currently reads -78.60, meaning we’ve entered a very strong oversold zone and are close to the recent low of $10.07. South Korea’s crypto compliance costs rise as security flaws at 130 institutions draw attention According to Cointelegraph, a review in South Korea found cybersecurity flaws at 130 financial institutions, and the country plans to introduce stricter cybersecurity assessments. The move comes after a series of attacks on banks and crypto companies. Regulators are clearly seeking to raise the security bar and prevent similar incidents from happening again. From a capital-flow perspective, rising compliance costs are a key factor. Local South Korean exchanges and related institutions will need to devote more resources to security upgrades, audits, and ongoing monitoring, directly driving up operating costs. Smaller institutions may feel the pressure more acutely, potentially affecting some capital flows or trading activity. After assessing compliance risks, institutional investors may allocate capital to the local market more cautiously or even shift some of their operations to regions with clearer regulatory environments. Stricter security assessments could also reshape the market. Leading institutions that establish an advantage in compliance may become more competitive, while participants with limited capacity to address deficiencies risk being marginalized. This divergence could further affect the distribution of liquidity in South Korea’s crypto market, with capital potentially concentrating on platforms that are more robust and better equipped to meet compliance requirements. It is worth noting that the specific assessment criteria, implementation timeline, and requirements for institutions of different sizes remain unclear. If the regulations are enforced too rigidly, trading activity could be dampened in the short term. If implemented effectively, however, they could help strengthen confidence in the market as a whole and attract long-term institutional capital. What to watch next is whether South Korean regulators publish detailed assessment guidelines and how local exchanges progress with their upgrades. If compliance costs rise significantly, changes in capital retention and trading activity in South Korea’s crypto market will be key indicators of the impact. #CryptoRegulation #Korea The above is a compilation of information and personal analysis, and does not constitute investment advice. Korea is having quite the day. Seoul's Financial Intelligence Unit announced on Oct. 13 that access within the country to 27 unregistered offshore crypto exchange websites—including KuCoin, MEXC, Phemex and BingX—will be blocked. The move follows regulatory reviews conducted on Oct. 6–7. Users of affected platforms can get withdrawal guidance through DAXA. Meanwhile, Bitcoin showed resilience: after briefly dipping below $81,000 around 00:50 UTC (08:50 Beijing time) on Oct. 13, BTC rebounded above $83,000—even as Korea's KOSPI plunged more than 6% intraday, its steepest drop since July, and Nasdaq futures weakened. Crypto has decoupled from equities—for now. With WTI oil still hovering near $93 and U.S. CPI due Thursday, the next macro test is just around the corner. Bank of Korea Governor Shin Hyun-song attended a parliamentary audit meeting of the National Assembly’s Finance and Economy Committee in Seoul on October 12. Asked about market speculation over whether the Bank of Korea would raise interest rates again in October or November, he made clear that inflation trends are the most important factor in monetary policy decisions. Shin emphasized that inflation has inflicted the greatest harm on low-income and vulnerable groups. He also noted that vulnerable borrowers affected by high interest rates feel the pressure of the central bank’s monetary policy. Markets interpreted his remarks as indicating that, when considering the path of interest rates, the Bank of Korea will continue to seek a balance between curbing inflation and easing the strain that high rates place on households and businesses. #INFLATION #KOREA #CENTRAL_BANK

As enthusiasm for AI-related investments gradually fades, South Korea’s stock market is grappling with a shortage of buyers, as foreign investors stage a major retreat and trading activity shrinks sharply. According to Bloomberg data, South Korea’s stock market has a total market capitalization of $4.3 trillion. However, trading volume has plunged 70% from its peak in late May, while the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (Kospi) has fallen 22% in the second half of 2026. The decline follows a strong rebound in the first half of the year. Driven by demand for AI memory chips, the Kospi had previously become the world’s best-performing major stock benchmark. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix together account for more than half of the index’s weighting, but have now become a source of vulnerability for the market, as investors broadly question whether the semiconductor boom can continue. According to exchange data compiled by Bloomberg, foreign investors have withdrawn $131 billion from South Korea’s stock market this year, the largest outflow among major Asian markets. Concerns about the demand outlook are clearly reflected in Samsung Electronics’ share price. Its shares fell on Thursday even though the company reported nearly ninefold growth in quarterly operating profit. The support provided by corporate share buybacks is also weakening. Buyback programs by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, worth a combined 55 trillion won (about $41 billion), are nearing completion. Retail investor participation has also fallen significantly since the July sell-off. Margin debt has declined from a June peak of 38.6 trillion won to about 33 trillion won, while brokerage firms’ margin balances have dropped from nearly 140 trillion won to about 100 trillion won. Meanwhile, investors are increasingly turning their attention to Taiwan, whose technology sector has a more diverse and extensive presence across the AI supply chain.$KORU {future}(KORUUSDT) #Korea

South Korea to Move Securities On-Chain: Which Cryptocurrencies Stand to Gain? South Korea is preparing a major overhaul of its financial markets. Starting in February 2027, the country plans to implement regulatory frameworks for the tokenization of equities, bonds, and other financial assets, enabling trading, accounting, and settlement to partially transition onto the blockchain. The primary question remains: which infrastructure will power this initiative? The government has yet to designate a specific blockchain network, leaving several projects positioned as potential beneficiaries. Leading candidates include Ethereum $ETH , given its mature tokenization infrastructure and widespread adoption in institutional pilots; Kaia $KAIA , owing to its deep Korean roots and strategic focus on the Asian market; and Avalanche $AVAX , which offers dedicated subnet architecture tailored for institutional financial entities. However, South Korea has not officially confirmed the selection of any public network. Furthermore, regulatory infrastructure requirements often necessitate multi-institutional interoperability, making the deployment of a permissioned or hybrid ecosystem a strong alternative. Strategic Outlook: ETH, KAIA, and AVAX are worth adding to watchlists for potential DCA (dollar-cost averaging) or gradual accumulation. Official adoption - or strategic pilot integration - by South Korean financial institutions could trigger a significant repricing catalyst for the chosen network. #Korea #Tokenization #blockchain #BuyTheDip

Korean retail has no tax reason to dump coins before the 22% crypto tax starts on 1 January 2027, and I expect the year-end selling story to get written anyway. For anything held from before 2027, the cost basis is the greater of what you actually paid and the market price on 31 December 2026. So a holder sitting on a big gain in $BTC or $ETH gets that year-end mark as their basis automatically, sold or not... selling in December to beat the tax saves them nothing. The start date is still open, though. On 22 September a lawmaker from the governing party argued the tax should wait until the Digital Asset Basic Act passes. The government says January as scheduled, but it's been pushed back before, and the December budget round will most likely settle it. If the won market sells hard into year-end, I'd look for a reason other than the tax. I'll be watching that December round. #CryptoTax #Korea #Bitcoin #Crypto

Korea’s 24‑Hour Won Pilot: Crypto’s New 24/7 PlaygroundGM fam, while the rest of the world is still stuck in 9‑5, the Bank of Korea just opened a 24‑hour won settlement pilot with four banks, letting foreign investors settle through RFI‑K accounts ahead of 2027. This means you can now trade Korean won on a 24/7 basis, just like you do with $BTC or $ETH, but with the added twist of a local fiat bridge that’s as smooth as a meme‑inspired meme coin launch. The Alpha The pilot is a game‑changer for cross‑border traders. By allowing foreign investors to settle in won 24/7, it eliminates the traditional “overnight” lag that usually forces you to wait for the next business day to clear trades. This is especially sweet for crypto‑native traders who thrive on speed and liquidity. The four banks involved are already testing RFI‑K accounts, a new kind of foreign‑currency‑in‑Korean‑won account that lets you move funds in and out of the Korean market with near‑instant settlement. #CryptoFinance #DeFi #Korea The Punchline Insight If you’re still waiting for the Korean market to open, you’re missing out on a full day of potential profit. Think of it as having a 24‑hour “pump” window for your portfolio, while the rest of the world is stuck in a 9‑5 grind. This pilot could also serve as a blueprint for other fiat‑to‑crypto bridges, making the global crypto market feel less like a series of time zones and more like a single, never‑ending meme stream. Engagement Bait So, crypto fam, are you ready to trade Korean won around the clock, or will you keep sleeping through the next 24‑hour market? Drop your thoughts below and let’s see who’s the first to hit that 24/7 win‑rate.
