The throne in Solana’s space has a new ruler—Fomo’s single-day revenue surpasses Pump.fun
This week, something of moderate but notable significance happened on Solana: on September 4, the social trading platform Fomo surged to $1.76 million in daily revenue, leaving the token-launching platform Pump.fun’s $1.10 million behind. This marks the first time in over a year since Fomo launched that its single-day earnings have overtaken Pump.fun.
#FOMO I’m not denying Pump.fun’s scale. If you extend the view to 30 days, Pump.fun still leads with cumulative revenue of $57 million, compared to Fomo’s $17.6 million. So this isn’t “a complete replacement”—more like a signal. The playbook on Solana that attracts traffic by launching new tokens is being nipped at by “social trading” models that bring in people with hype. Fomo focuses on interaction-style activities like coordinating trades with big-name accounts and group buys. Its stickiness is different from pure token launches.
#pump Zooming back out to the broader market, BTC’s market cap is $1.59 trillion and it’s down 0.91% over the past 24 hours. ETH is also drifting lower, down 0.28%. The leaders aren’t moving, but the excitement is happening in the downstream application layer. SOL itself is down 1.64% in 24 hours to $103.97, and reshuffling within the ecosystem has never stopped. That’s why looking only at the K-line charts can make you miss what’s really going on.
Many people watch the on-chain revenue leaderboards—but what they’re really watching is which direction the “next wave” will blow in. Token-launch platforms make money on attention and popularity; social trading platforms make money on people—on real groups that actually play together. When one side’s single-day revenue is first surpassed by the other, it often means the wind direction of the playbook is changing.
What truly holds up isn’t just the buzz propped up by nudging prices for a stretch, but the kind of人氣 (hype) that everyone is actually inside the scene for, with real work getting done. You can manufacture K-line charts with a pump, but it’s the gathering together that makes history. Some bets rely on the latter.
