Binance is excited to announce the 35th project on the HODLer Airdrops page – Somnia (SOMI), a EVM-compatible L1 blockchain with a focus on mass consumer applications such as games and entertainment products.
Users who subscribed their BNB to Simple Earn (Flexible and/or Locked) and/or On-Chain Yields products from 2025-08-12 00:00 (UTC) to 2025-08-15 23:59 (UTC) will get the airdrops distribution. The HODLer Airdrops information is estimated to be available in 24 hours, and the new token will be distributed to users’ Spot Accounts at least 1 hour before trading starts.
Binance will then list SOMI at 2025-09-02 14:30 (UTC) and open trading against USDT, USDC, BNB, FDUSD, and TRY pairs. The seed tag will be applied to SOMI. Users can start depositing SOMI at 2025-09-01 11:00 (UTC).
*Please note that SOMI will be available on Binance Alpha and can be traded on Binance Alpha (time will be announced later), but SOMI will no longer be showcased on Binance Alpha after spot trading opens.

Introducing Binance HODLer Airdrops
Binance HODLer Airdrops is a program that rewards BNB holders with token airdrops based on historical snapshots of their BNB balances. By subscribing BNB to Simple Earn, users are automatically eligible for HODLer Airdrops (as well as Launchpool and Megadrop rewards). By subscribing BNB to On-Chain Yields, users are automatically eligible for HODLer Airdrops and Launchpool rewards.
Unlike other earning methods that require ongoing actions, HODLer Airdrops reward users retroactively, offering a simple way to earn additional tokens. By subscribing BNB to Simple Earn products and/or On-Chain Yields, users can automatically qualify for token rewards.
How to Benefit from HODLer Airdrops
Head to [Earn] and search for BNB. Subscribe to Simple Earn (Flexible and/or Locked) and/or On-Chain Yields products with your BNB holdings.Snapshots of user balances and total pool balances will be taken multiple times at any point of time each hour to get users’ hourly average balances in Simple Earn (Flexible and/or Locked) and/or On-Chain Yields products. Binance will use historical snapshots of user balances at random periods after this announcement to calculate user rewards. For example, reward calculation for HODLer Airdrops on 2024-06-11 may use snapshots of user balances between 2024-06-01 to 2024-06-07 as reference.Eligible users will receive HODLer Airdrops rewards in their Spot Accounts within 24 hours after the HODLer Airdrops is announced.

Key highlights for Binance Alpha users:Users can transfer their SOMI from Alpha Accounts to Spot Accounts.SOMI will be delisted from Binance Alpha when spot trading opens on Binance Spot. Users will be able to continue to sell SOMI via Binance Alpha. After SOMI is delisted from Binance Alpha, users can still view their SOMI balance on their Alpha Account, and transfer them to Spot Accounts to continue trading on Binance Spot.Binance will transfer SOMI from users’ Alpha Accounts to Spot Accounts within 24 hours.Binance Alpha serves as a pre-listing token selection pool. Staked Lista BNB (slisBNB) and slisBNB Non-Transferable Receipt (slisBNBx) in Binance Wallet (Keyless) will be supported in HODLer Airdrops reward calculation.
At any snapshot time, any one of your supported assets must be greater than 0.01 BNB to be included in the calculation.
Spot Algo Orders will also be enabled for the aforementioned pairs at 2025-09-02 14:30 (UTC), while Trading Bots & Spot Copy Trading will be enabled within 1 hour of it being listed on Spot. About Mark Price:
Mark Price methodology during the pre-market trading period
Pre-market perpetual futures contract mark price is calculated using the following formula:
Mark Price = Average of last 10 seconds trade prices, calculated every second.If there are less than 21 transaction prices in the 10 seconds interval, the average of the price index will be based on the last 20 transaction prices.
A ±1% of price cap will be imposed on the mark price where the price change is limited within ±1% range every second interval. This cap is applicable during the pre-market trading and pre-market standard perpetual transition period.
Pre-market Standard Perpetual Transition Period
Pre-market perpetual futures contracts will be converted to standard perpetual futures contracts gradually when a stable index price can be derived from the spot market(s) (as determined by Binance). The mark price will gradually converge from pre-market trading Mark Price to the standard Mark Price calculation (Mark Price = Median (Price 1, Price 2, Contract Price)) during the transition period. The transition period duration is subject to price volatility and availability of stable index price. Trading function is not affected during the transition period. Open orders and positions will not be cancelled.
Mark Price After the Pre-Market Trading Ends
When the pre-market perpetual futures contract ends, the Mark Price will be calculated using the following formula:Mark Price = Median (Price 1, Price 2, Contract Price)

About Funding Rates:
There are two components to the funding rate: the interest rate and the premium. Binance uses a flat interest rate fixed at 0.03% daily by default. Due to unavailability of premium index during the pre-market trading period, the funding rate will be 0.005% per funding interval since funding interval occurs every four hours. Binance reserves the right to adjust the interest rate from time to time depending on market conditions. The funding rate settlement frequency during the pre-market trading period occurs every four hours. A separate announcement will be made if Binance Futures decides to increase the funding rate settlement frequency from every four hours to every one hour during the pre-market trading period.After the pre-market trading ends, the funding rate will follow the standard perpetual futures contract’s funding rate rules where the maximum and minimum funding rate could go up to +2.00% / -2.00%.
