Beware of Scams Part 2: Common Scams on Telegram and Discord

Telegram and Discord are the most commonly used communication software in this circle. With many people, mixed information, and a sense of urgency to solve problems, it's easy to become a target for scams.

I. Telegram (tg/Telegraph)

1. "Mining" Scam (Image 1)
Scammers ask you to deposit assets/staking like $BNB $ETH into a specified address/contract, claiming high returns and high dividends. This is clearly a scam; absolutely do not believe it, do not try it, and do not hold the mindset of "let's try it just in case it's real!"

These scammers often disguise themselves as Binance mining pools/Binance communities to perpetrate their scams, such as the "Binance Official Mining Pool Community" in Image 1, and the Binance logo, even impersonating Binance customer service inside.

2. Ignore strangers looking for a chat on tg
tg is famous for encrypted chats, so those actively reaching out to you are basically looking to scam your money. Just block useless information. If anyone recommends a coin to you, don't buy it; they are mostly scams, and your money will only go in and not out.

II. Discord (dc)

1. Discord is a chat community, and when grabbing airdrops, you usually need to join dc to get the latest news or find official support for issues.

The problem lies in "solving problems". When you publicly ask questions in the channel, there will be bots or accounts sending you links and requesting to be friends, claiming to be official customer service that can help you solve problems. They are 100% scammers; they will ask you to link your wallet or give them your private key/recovery phrase, and you must absolutely not do this.

You will often see the phrase in dc: "Never DM you first." This means "will not DM you first"; thus, anyone who DMs you first is definitely a scammer.

Personal issues in dc must be resolved by opening a ticket; there are dedicated personnel to assist you, and support-ticket/help-ticket is the real channel for problem resolution.

Image 2 shows that when I inquired about a refund in SafePay, immediately a "SafePay customer service" requested to be friends; this is a scammer to remember. (All friend requests in the image are from scammers)

Image 3 is "Never ever DM you first"; mods in dc usually add this phrase to warn you not to be scammed.

Image 4 is a Chinese anti-scam reminder in dc.

Making money is not easy; you must guard your money bag well.

Hesitated for a day to prepare 10,000 u to store in Stable, but it kept getting stuck on the signature page. Considering the amount limit and high gas fees, I decided not to deposit. Let's see if Binance will launch on-chain wealth management, like $XPL . Deposit-type airdrops still feel like they are not for small investors.

A reminder: Be extremely careful of phishing links when browsing Twitter. There are so many of these now; one wrong move and your money is gone.

Figure 1 shows a scam ad link, usually appearing while browsing Twitter. Clicking it will ask you to authorize tokens; once authorized, your coins could be transferred from your wallet at any time.

Figure 2 shows a scam airdrop link, typically appearing in the comments section or related areas of airdrop projects. The $KITE airdrop query above is an official tweet, while the one below looks almost identical but is actually a phishing link. Many people are scammed because they can't distinguish between these "fake official" links.

Last year, when I first entered the crypto world, I tried to find the Debank points entry point but clicked on a link posted by someone else instead of the official tweet, almost losing all my money. At the time, almost all my assets were in the $ETH airdrop token I was using to collect points on the blockchain.

Finally, let me emphasize again:
① Always access the site through official tweets, the official website, or the project's designated entry point;

② Don't click on anything you're unsure about;

③ Search for official information yourself; don't click on links posted by others. There are too many scams in this circle, so be very careful.
