UPDATE: Multiple stories broke the news earlier this week that the SEC had reached out to issuers requesting them to submit updated documents for their Solana ETFs & to include staking. As of 5 PM EST we have 6 of the 7 hopeful Solana ETF issuers that have submitted those S-1's
More confirmation of the SEC's move toward engaging on Solana ETFs and Staking from my colleague @isabelletanlee https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-06-11/new-generation-of-crypto-etfs-edge-closer-after-sec-scrutiny?utm_medium=email&utm_source=author_alert&utm_term=250611&utm_campaign=author_21953717
The SEC sent a letter seemingly looking to stop those staked ETH and SOL ETFs. Will be an interesting saga to watch in coming days and weeks. Great reporting from @isabelletanlee and team below:
BIG NEWS: @REXShares just filed an effective prospectus for Solana and Ethereum staking ETFs to list here in the US. Don’t know launch date but could be within the next few weeks. These are 40-act funds with a unique structure and do not go through the 19b-4 process
Delays on spot crypto ETFs are expected. A bunch of XRP ETPs have dates in next few days.
If we're gonna see early approvals from the SEC on any of these assets -- i wouldn't expect to see them until late June or early July at absolute earliest. More likely to be in early 4Q.
FILED yesterday. @BitwiseInvest is launching three option based income ETFs. One on each of their Ethereum and Bitcoin ETFs and one on their thematic crypto equity etf (The Bitwise Crypto Industry Innovators ETF -- $BITQ).
About to be on the mainstage at @consensus2025 at 9:45 with @Scaramucci, @baehr, @JonoSteinberg & Pascal from 3iQ. If you’re at the conference come stop by
NEW: Amended S-1 just dropped for BlackRock's Ethereum ETF -- $ETHA. Looks like the main change is added language around allowing for in-kind creation/redemption when approved by the SEC.
(@EricBalchunas & I expect SEC approval for in-kind at some point this year)
NEW: Amended S-1 just dropped for BlackRock's Ethereum ETF -- $ETHA. Looks like the main substantive change is added language to potentially allow for in-kind creation/redemption when approved by the SEC. (something @EricBalchunas and I expect to approved this year)
After yesterdays inflows, the spot Bitcoin ETFs are now at a new high water market for lifetime flows. Currently at $40.33 billion according to Bloomberg data h/t @EricBalchunas
NEW: Another amended filing was just sent to the SEC for the "Permuto Capital Msft Trust". This thing will essentially be tokenized stock exposure to Microsoft $MSFT.
Wrote about Ethereum ETFs earlier this week via my Ether ETF Chart pack. Everyone likes to Pile onto Ether but the ETFs are doing decently well as far as flows go. The problem is that assets are lower now than when they launched.
The @CanaryFunds Litecoin ETF filing is due for a decision (possibly a delay) by Monday 5/5. SEC went early & delayed a bunch of filings but not this. If any asset has a chance of early approval it's Litecoin IMO. Personally think a delay is more likely but def something to watch
