🇷🇴 THE ROMANIAN REGULATOR ADDS POLYMARKET TO THE BLACKLIST 🇷🇴
The national gambling office of Romania (ONJN) added the prediction market platform Polymarket to its blacklist on October 31.
According to the regulator, the site offers services comparable to gambling in the country without possessing any valid license.
The ONJN clarified that contracts and bets based on predictions, even when made with cryptocurrencies, fully fall under the definition of gambling activities and must therefore be authorized.
The decision highlights the growing attention of European authorities towards decentralized markets and the increasingly blurred lines between decentralized finance and online gambling.
