The Fed cut its benchmark interest rate by 0.25% (25 basis points), lowering the target range to 3.75%-4.00%.
They also announced that they will halt their quantitative-tightening (QT) programme (i.e., stop running down their securities holdings) from December 1 onwards.
The Fed acknowledged that the labour market is weakening a bit, inflation remains above goal, and uncertainty in the outlook is elevated.
