American Congressman Ro Khanna intends to introduce a bill prohibiting U.S. President Donald Trump, his family, and all members of Congress from trading cryptocurrencies and stocks. Suspicion of corruption
In an interview with MSNBC, Hanna expressed concern about Trump's ties to the cryptocurrency market, particularly through his son's project — World Liberty Financial (WLFI). The congressman's attention was drawn to the recent pardon of Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao.
«You have a foreign billionaire who is essentially involved in money laundering,» — said Hanna. He claims that Zhao “is requesting a pardon from Trump after he has effectively funneled money to terrorist organizations.”
Zhao, for his part, previously responded to similar accusations from Senator Elizabeth Warren, stating that she “cannot accurately state the facts.” He pleaded guilty to one count of violating the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act related to insufficient anti-money laundering efforts on the Binance platform.
Hanna believes that Zhao received leniency due to WLFI's financial support from Binance. This viewpoint is also shared by Congresswoman Maxine Waters.
