Putin's Statement:
"As for a possible meeting with Zelensky, I have already said that I did not rule out such a meeting.
Is there any sense in this meeting? According to the constitution of Ukraine, there are no ways to extend the powers of the president.
There are provisions under which elections are not held in a state of martial law, but this does not mean that the powers of the president are prolonged; they are transferred to the speaker of the Rada.
If the Ukrainian authorities want to be legitimate, they must hold a referendum on territorial issues.
But a referendum cannot be held under martial law, which means it must be canceled. But as soon as this is done, elections must be held. This process will be endless."
