Russia and China will be connected by two more railways

Logistics in Russian-Chinese trade has always been a complex issue. Border crossings are regularly modernized, but even modernization does not provide the necessary increase, let alone the formation of reserve capacities for border crossing.

But there is good news. The Ministry of Transport of Russia, together with investors and China, is actively considering the creation of two new railway lines to China in Zabaikalsky Krai and Amur Oblast, said the first deputy head of the ministry, Valentin Ivanov, on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum. 'In Zabaikalsky Krai, it is Priargunsk - Khairk, in Amur Oblast it is Jalingda - Mohe, a new railway branch,' he reported.

According to plans, these new lines will allow an increase in railway transportation volumes, considering the growth of shipments via the Eastern Polygon. As for the Jalingda - Mohe crossing point, it was reported back in mid-January 2024 about the beginning of the design and construction of a new railway bridge crossing.

Thus, the creation of two new railways will not only relieve existing crossing points but also elevate Russian-Chinese logistics to a new level.
