🇲🇽 "EL MAYO" ZAMBADA, 77 YEARS OLD, PLEADS GUILTY IN BROOKLYN AND WILL SPEND THE REST OF HIS LIFE IN FEDERAL PRISON
The co-founder of the Sinaloa Cartel admitted to leading a criminal enterprise for over 50 years. "I acknowledge the great harm that illegal drugs have caused in the United States and Mexico. I apologize for everything and take responsibility," he said through an interpreter.
The story of his capture is like a movie: In July 2024, Joaquín Guzmán López (son of Chapo) tricked him by saying they were going to see real estate properties. Instead, he kidnapped him, tied him up, and put him on a private plane to El Paso, Texas, where both were arrested.
Zambada agreed to forfeit $15 BILLION as proceeds from his crimes. For 5 minutes, he detailed how he led the world's most violent cartel, importing tons of coc@!ne, her0!in, and fent@n@il. "We paid bribes to police, military, and politicians since I was a young man," he confessed.
