đŸ‡șđŸ‡žđŸ‡·đŸ‡ș PREPARATORY MEETING FOR THE RUSSIAN-AMERICAN SUMMIT

Russian President Vladimir Putin has gathered his collaborators to prepare for the summit on August 15 with Donald Trump in Anchorage, Alaska, at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base.

According to Yuri Ushakov, Putin's advisor, the meeting will start with a one-on-one conversation with only interpreters present, and then continue with the delegations over a working breakfast.

On the Russian side, the following will be present: Sergey Lavrov (Foreign Affairs), Andrei Belousov (Defense), Anton Siluanov (Finance), Yuri Ushakov (presidential advisor), and Kirill Dmitriev (international economic relations).

After the discussions, Putin and Trump will hold a joint press conference. The central theme will be the war in Ukraine, with the goal of finding a path to peace. An American envoy, Steve Witkoff, had already traveled to Moscow on August 6 to prepare for these exchanges.

Other topics will be on the agenda: global security, regional conflicts, and bilateral economic relations. Putin believes that these relations have great potential but still require efforts.

The meeting will take place near a cemetery where Soviet pilots who died during World War II are buried, a symbol of the past alliance between Moscow and Washington.

Finally, Putin stated that Russia is open to new agreements on nuclear weapons but only if peace returns to Ukraine. He considers the current American administration serious in its desire to end the conflict.

It remains to be seen whether this meeting will lead to a genuine agreement or whether it will just be a diplomatic exercise.
