Bitcoin continues to show resilience in this volatile market, with analysts stating this is a clear sign that investors see it as a safe option in uncertain times. Many also anticipate the beginning of the altcoin season, with numerous coins recording strong gains.
Top Gainers Today
XRP is up 3% in the last 24 hours, while Ethereum (ETH) is trading at $1,943, up 5% after the recent Pectra upgrade. Solana (SOL) and Dogecoin (DOGE) both rose over 4% and 5%, while Cardano (ADA) recorded a gain of 4.8%. SUI leads with a 9% increase, Hedera (HBAR) is up 5%. Pi Network also increased by more than 7% today. Memecoin Pepe showed a 13% increase, while ONDO and AAVE rose 6% and 7%, respectively. Chainlink and Avalanche also recorded gains of about 6%.
The top gaining cryptocurrencies today are EOS, up 17% at $0.84, Bitcoin Cash up 13% to $416.82, while Immutable increased by 10.86% to $0.58.
Altcoin Index and Predictions
The current CMC Altcoin index is 30. Although altcoins are performing well, there is still much potential for growth. Bitcoin leads the market share with a dominance rate of 64%. The Fear and Greed Index for Cryptocurrency is at 53, indicating a neutral market.
An analyst shared a chart indicating that altcoins are gaining momentum, with increased altcoin activity expected in May 2025. He noted that altcoins are experiencing a price frenzy, and many significant increases may be on the horizon. According to analyst Michaël van de Poppe, the altcoin market looks great, and it could rally to $925 billion.
