The working group will likely define strict inclusion rules:

✅ Hashing function dominance → Must resist attacks
✅ No premine or insider allocation → Prevents centralization
✅ 10+ years operational history → Ensures long-term reliability

✅ Cold storage compatibility → Security must be top-tier
✅ Fully intact blockchain history → Must be verifiable from genesis

❌ XRP, SOL, ADA, and ETH fail these criteria.

So, what might qualify?

✅ Bitcoin (obviously)
✅ Litecoin
✅ Monero (if privacy coins are allowed)
✅ Dogecoin/Namecoin (if merged mining is overlooked, Elon may push for Doge)

Key questions remain:

🔹 Which government department will oversee the reserve?
🔹 How will assets be secured? Custodian or self-custody?
🔹 What will be the procurement process?

Trump’s Crypto Czar, David Sacks, is a known Solana bagholder. Even if he divests, public perception matters—this cannot look like a pump-and-dump scheme.

In July 2024, Senator Cynthia Lummis, a close ally of the Trump administration, introduced the Bitcoin Act

Today, she was followed by Elon Musk on X

The bill proposes:
- The Treasury would buy 200,000 BTC ($22B) per year for 5 years
- The goal: accumulate 5% of BTC’s total supply, mirroring the U.S. gold reserves
- Funded by diversifying existing Federal Reserve and Treasury assets

What About $SOL, $ETH, $XRP and $ADA?

There are no public plans for these, so we can only speculate

But since they’re much cheaper than BTC, a similar 5% allocation would be far easier to execute

So, potentially:
- 1.25% of BTC’s total supply per year for 5 years (purchased linearly)
- 1.25% of $SOL, $ETH, $XRP and $ADA per year for 5 years (purchased linearly)

This seems highly possible, but it’s still speculative for now

On March 7th Trump is hosting a White House Crypto Summit, bringing together:
