BlackRock warns quantum computing could impact Bitcoin encryption security
According to Cointelegraph, asset management firm BlackRock stated in a regulatory filing that emerging technologies such as quantum computing could render the encryption technology underlying Bitcoin and other blockchain networks ineffective. On May 9th, BlackRock updated the registration statement for its iShares Bitcoin ETF (IBIT), noting that quantum computing could pose risks to the integrity of the Bitcoin network. IBIT is the largest spot Bitcoin ETF, with approximately $64 billion in net assets. Quantum computing aims to enhance computer processing power using the principles of quantum mechanics. Analyst James Seyffart stated that risk disclosure is standard procedure and that all potential risks should be highlighted. Since its launch in January, Bitcoin ETFs have attracted over $41 billion in net inflows. On May 8th, net inflows into Bitcoin ETFs reached a record high of over $40 billion. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino has predicted that quantum computing will enable hackers to access inactive Bitcoin wallets.

According to reports by Wu, Ethereum developer @nero_eth discusses delayed execution (EIP-7886) and the free DA issue. Delayed execution alters the validation process, allowing validators to pre-check the validity of blocks before transaction execution through pre-inspection.
If a transaction fails due to insufficient balance, the data has been written to the block but the fees have not been paid, leading to the Free DA issue. Invalid transactions occupy on-chain resources, and validators are not compensated.
The article proposes solutions such as optimistic certification, pre-validation, and pre-charging, ensuring that data writing incurs costs through pre-deduction of fees, block reorganization, or state rollback, to prevent network congestion and economic injustice.
