For some, video games are a pastime, for others, an interesting way to spend time, and for some – a source of income.

As of 2025, the volume of the video game market in China is estimated at $137.6 billion, and by 2030 it will grow to $196.5 billion, thus the growth will be about 44%. This is the second largest market in the world after the USA. The top 5 video game markets also include Japan, the United Kingdom, and South Korea (more details can be found in the infographic).

It is projected that by 2025, the global video game market will exceed $520 billion, and by 2030 it will grow to approximately $730 billion. The video game market includes the creation, release, distribution, and monetization of video games for PCs, mobile devices, and online games, as well as expenses on related equipment and accessories.

It should be noted that RASPP is engaged in promoting creative industry products in foreign markets, including China. However, penetrating the Chinese video game market is not so easy – the Chinese are much more eager to profit from foreigners. In 2024, the revenue of China's gaming industry in foreign markets amounted to $18.56 billion, which is 13% more than the previous year. Chinese video games Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail were among the most downloaded games in over 100 countries and regions around the world.
