Bloomberg: The U.S. CFTC may lift restrictions on cryptocurrency spot contract trading.

Bloomberg reports that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is currently studying and considering allowing cryptocurrency spot contract trading on CFTC-registered futures exchanges, involving cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Bitcoin, and supporting leveraged digital asset trading.

CFTC Acting Chair Caroline Pham revealed that the agency is capable of immediately implementing a clear and straightforward solution. To broadly collect opinions, the CFTC has launched a public consultation, asking everyone to provide their views on allowing cryptocurrency spot contract trading on CFTC-registered futures exchanges by August 18.

According to monitoring by the blockchain security company PeckShield, CrediX experienced a security vulnerability attack today. The hacker implemented the attack by stealing an administrator account with multiple management permissions. This administrator account had a wide range of permissions, covering critical areas such as liquidity pool management, cross-chain bridge operations, asset listings, and emergency disposal.

During the attack, the hacker primarily utilized the cross-chain bridge (BRIDGE) permissions of the account to execute operations, ultimately resulting in a loss of approximately 4.5 million dollars from the liquidity pool, including the minted unsecured acUSDC tokens.

Previous reports indicated that CrediX officials have acknowledged this security incident and stated that they are fully committed to conducting an investigation, with detailed information about the incident to be released as soon as possible.
