Qubic Targets Dogecoin After Gaining Control Over Monero in a '51% Attack'
According to reports, the Qubic community, focused on artificial intelligence (AI) blockchain projects, claims to have gained majority control over the Monero (XMR) network and shortly thereafter voted to initiate a '51% attack' on Dogecoin (DOGE). This takeover of control over Monero involved a reorganization of six blocks and led to the temporary suspension of Monero deposit services on the cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, highlighting serious concerns about the security of proof-of-work (PoW) systems. Over 300 community supporters voted in favor of launching an attack on Dogecoin, which, as a well-known memecoin, has a market capitalization exceeding $35 billion.
