Trump ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines to "appropriate regions" after Medvedev, vice chairman of the Russian Security Council, made statements about Russia's last-resort nuclear capabilities from the Soviet era.
📱 On Truth Social, Trump wrote: "I have ordered two Nuclear Submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions, in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than that. Words are very important and can lead to unintended consequences".
The conflict escalated after Trump gave Russia only 10-12 days for a ceasefire in Ukraine (down from 50 days). Medvedev responded: "It is neither your decision nor Trump's to dictate when to sit down and negotiate peace" and ironically reminded Trump of movies about "the living dead" and "the dead hand".
💣 Previously, Medvedev suggested that several countries were "ready to directly supply Iran with nuclear warheads" following U.S. attacks on Iranian nuclear sites, which infuriated Trump who said that "the word N (Nuclear) should not be treated so casually".
