Federal Reserve's "hawkish inaction", where does the market go from here?
Powell continues to play it cool this time; although inflation is cooling, he still dares not act rashly. In my view, the Federal Reserve is like a tightrope walker, needing to guard against inflation rebound while also facing pressure from economic slowdown. There is basically no chance of interest rate cuts this year, and the two rate cuts expected in 2025 seem more like a placebo for the market.
Investment advice:
1. Cash is king in the short term, the high interest rate environment will continue
2. Gold and short-term bonds can be considered as hedging options
3. The crypto market should be carefully selected, focusing on projects with real applications
Trump's call for rate cuts is understandable, but the Federal Reserve clearly trusts data over political pressure. Investors are advised to be patient and wait for clearer signals of policy shifts. Remember, the market is never short of opportunities; what it lacks is the discipline to wait for the right moment.
