Foresight News reports that Morten Søberg, the former Secretary of State for the Norwegian Ministry of Finance, member of the Norwegian Central Bank's Supervisory Council, and director of public affairs at SpareBank 1, will assume the role of Secretary General at the newly established Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) in August 2025. The institution aims to oppose the Bitcoin ban, promote legislative openness, and enhance public understanding of Bitcoin and the monetary system. Currently, BPI has received approximately 1.517 BTC (around 1.6 million Norwegian kroner) in donations and has 121 paying members.
