I'm relatively new to crypto trading and have been researching Bitcoin halvings since everyone keeps mentioning how important they are for market cycles.

🔥 My Understanding of Bitcoin Halving
From what I've gathered, Bitcoin goes through something called a halving every ~4 years, where the rewards miners get are cut in half.The next one should happen in early 2026. Historically, these events seem to kick off bull markets.

📈What interests me most is how different crypto projects perform during each cycle:

  • 2012-2013 cycle: Early altcoins like Litecoin performed well

  • 2016-2017 cycle: ICOs and $ETH (Ethereum) exploded

  • 2020-2021 cycle: DeFi and NFTs ($ETH, $SOL, $BNB) took off


🌐 Why I'm Watching Layer 2 Solutions for 2026

As I’m learning, I've become really interested in Layer 2 solutions. Here’s why I think they might shine in the next cycle:

  1. Scaling Issues Are Real:
    During the last bull run, $ETH gas fees were insane and even $BTC transactions got expensive.
    Layer 2s help solve this, right?

  2. They’ve Been Building:
    Most L2 projects launched between 2021-2023 and seem to be using this bear market to build real products.

  3. Better Tokenomics:
    Many L2 tokens seem designed to capture actual value from network usage — not just hype.

  4. Institutions Are Interested:
    From what I can tell, Layer 2s seem more "serious" and institution-friendly than meme coins or experimental DeFi.
