This is an article I spent a whole night writing as self-humiliation.
Not for anything else, but to record the journey of losing money in the crypto world over the past six months.
I found that I'm really not bad at technical skills,
But inherently too much of a commoner, too afraid to lose, too focused on stability.
Come on, the following eight points are my selected **'typical performances of the crypto commoner mindset'**, see how many you resonate with 👇
1. Small position trading, imagining oneself as a risk control expert.
🔸 Buy a little of every coin, fantasizing that if it doubles, I can earn too;
🔸 As a result, the positions that rose are too small, but the drops hit me hard;
🔸 This is not diversifying risk, it's diversifying winning chances.
2. Afraid of rising, afraid of falling, afraid of everything.
🔸 Risen 20%, afraid of a pullback and don't dare to chase;
🔸 Dropped 20%, afraid of catching the bottom halfway;
🔸 The result is: missed out on the rise, missed out on the drop.
3. Have SOL in the wallet but reluctant to use it.
🔸 Every time I see trading fees, I feel heartbroken: 0.001 SOL? I can save it if I can;
🔸 As a result, I miss the opening, miss the transfers, miss all opportunities,
🔸 Saved 0.001 SOL, lost 0.5.
4. Love looking at rankings, but never dare to buy what's on the list.
🔸 Because 'it's already risen so much, someone must be offloading';
🔸 So I wait for it to pull back, and then it doubles directly;
🔸 Still comforting myself 'I never liked this coin' 🙃.
5. Want to get rich quickly, but don't dare to heavily invest.
🔸 Every time I shout 'This wave has made me want to retire';
🔸 But when it comes to actually placing a bet, only dare to bet a small amount;
🔸 When it really rises, I can only afford a nice meal.
6. Doubt life when losing, want to cash out when rising.
🔸 Coin drops 10%: 'This project is done for';
🔸 Coin rises 10%: 'It's good, let's sell half to secure some profit';
🔸 Result: Always selling at the most awkward position.
7. Watching on-chain, looking at communities, watching K-lines, but not making a move.
🔸 Think of myself as a researcher;
🔸 In fact, it's a procrastination attack + fear of making mistakes and not acting;
🔸 Others earn a fortune in an hour, but I'm still observing two weeks later.
8. Always thinking 'when I have money, I can win.'
🔸 Don't believe in tools, don't believe in strategies, unwilling to learn;
🔸 Always think it's because of insufficient capital that I can't earn;
🔸 The fact is, even with 1 SOL now, you will still lose,
10 SOL, 100 SOL will still lose as well.
In summary:
"You don't lose because there are no opportunities, you lose because you don't dare to win."
I am now training myself every day to break these mindsets:
✔ Enter when there is logic;
✔ Cut losses when necessary;
✔ Don't be afraid of losing face, and don't pretend to understand;
✔ After losing once, write down the experience and treat it as a cost.
You are the same, if you have ever lost money because of the above mindsets—
Don't blame yourself, we are just still learning.
Do you want me to release a 'self-rescue guide'?
The next article can be about (how to change from 'afraid of losing' to 'daring to act'),
