MeebCo is a newly established company founded by NFT collector Sergito and supported by blockchain investment firm 1confirmation, which acquired the Meebits NFT collection and intellectual property from Yuga Labs.

According to MeebCo's statement, the team plans to respect the history and legacy of the series as one of the most outstanding 3D voxel characters while still evolving its position in the metaverse.

Plans include expanding the project through more storytelling, new merchandise, art collaborations, and interactive experiences while maintaining a presence in Yuga's Otherside metaverse.

Meebits characters were initially created by Larva Labs in 2021 and later acquired by Yuga Labs in 2022, intended for the digital world and gaming. As part of this transformation, Yuga Labs will now focus more on its other projects, namely Bored Ape Yacht Club and Otherside.

To kick off this new phase, MeebCo launched Bits, a new rewards system that allows Meebits collectors to earn points by buying and selling on Meebits' official third-party marketplace OpenSea.
