Continue to hold long positions, are there still opportunities for short-term operations?
Some brothers say that opening a short position immediately after the election results come out could be a great opportunity. After all, if Trump is elected, it would turn favorable conditions into unfavorable ones, and if Harris is elected, it would be directly unfavorable. So, opening a short position right after the election results is the strategy. I personally think this line of thinking is wrong, and quite absurdly so.
Instead, I believe we need to act based on the results. If you must trade short-term, you can make a judgment the moment the election results are announced. Different winners should lead to different strategies. Often, taking action at this time is akin to gambling; spot trading may be somewhat better, but contracts, especially those with high leverage, carry significant risks.
The path of trading is difficult to win and easy to lose: the moment you engage, your life enters a purgatory mode. Trading is challenging precisely because there is no model that allows you to win consistently. You may lose confidence, then suddenly have a moment of clarity days later, rush in, and regret it too late. However, once you choose to trade, there is no turning back. The journey of trading is full of ups and downs, and only those who trade understand the bittersweet experiences involved.
