💰 The day 120,000 bitcoins disappeared
In August 2016, the Bitfinex exchange suffered one of the biggest hacks in crypto history.
The attackers stole approximately 119,756 BTC.
At the time, Bitcoin was trading well below its current prices, but the theft was already worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
The most incredible part is that the story didn't end there.
Years later, in 2022, U.S. authorities arrested a couple connected to laundering some of the stolen funds and recovered a large amount of bitcoin.
A lesson that still holds true: in the crypto world, security can be just as valuable as the investment.

my stepfather saved $25,000 over six years of night shifts
