Making money on-chain is getting tougher: over the past 30 days, chain revenue was about $450, which averages roughly tens of dollars per day; some days even become negative after subtracting the batch submission costs to Ethereum.

The stablecoin supply is around over $9 million, with daily active addresses of about 2,000.

Blast has just officially announced a shutdown. Scroll hasn’t reached that stage yet, but the scale already looks like a common problem of “post-airdrop” L2s—fees can’t sustain Ethereum settlement, so the money slowly leaves.

Late-night chat: the case of $SCR is quite heartbreaking.

From $1.94 all the way down to $0.02683—its market cap is now only $5.1 million, with $4.25 million in 24h trading volume. One Ethereum L2 that was once heavily expected has seen its liquidity become so thin that it trembles at the slightest breeze.

The community’s biggest frustration isn’t really about the price. It’s about the narrative of “airdrop harvesting”: using point-based expectations to draw users in, driving interactions and pumping TVL. Once tokens are unlocked, they’re stamped with the label “junk L2.” When trust breaks, the chart basically turns into a free fall.

My observations:
1) The L2 sector is already severely oversupplied. For projects without real users and differentiated use cases, tokens will keep bleeding;
2) The current market cap is below the daily trading volume—this is a typical “no one holds, everyone is just rotating” situation. Any rebound has to first get through the hurdle of token unlocks;
3) For ordinary participants, instead of betting on a sentiment reversal, treat it as a failure case study of airdrop economics—if any of the following is missing before TGE: expectation management, unlock timing, or the ecosystem’s ability to retain and build on it, it could become the next SCR.

No hype, no slander—risk is yours to bear.
