The mobile business was abruptly discontinued by the team, so it’s no surprise that
$FOLKS has come under pressure recently.
Folks Finance once viewed mobile as one of its core growth pillars. Now that segment has been cut outright, yet the team has offered no clear explanation. The market voted with its feet: the token is currently trading at around $2.42, with 24-hour trading volume of just about $1.14 million and a market cap of roughly $43.44 million. Liquidity was already thin, and weakening sentiment can amplify volatility further.
More concerning than the business contraction is the lack of communication. A growth pillar was dropped without warning, with no explanation, compensation plan, or roadmap for what comes next. It’s only natural that the community would question the team’s execution and transparency. In DeFi, trust is itself part of the total value locked.
There are three things to watch next:
1. Whether the team provides a full explanation for ending the mobile business and lays out a new growth plan;
2. Whether the core lending and cross-chain business metrics are affected;
3. Whether trading volume recovers, avoiding a negative feedback loop between a slow decline and low liquidity.
Bad news doesn’t necessarily mean the end, but the combination of “cutting a business line + silence” usually takes longer to digest. Prioritize position management, and it may be prudent to wait for clearer signals before making a decision.
