One Technical Signal Has Only Flashed a Few Times in Bitcoin's History — And It's About to Happen Again
This chart pattern doesn't come around often. When it does, the outcomes have been wildly different.
$BTC is one crossover away from a full bullish moving-average alignment — its 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day trends all pointing upward simultaneously for the first time since mid-2025. This happens when the 100-day average moves above the 200-day line, completing the stack.
Here's why this setup gets attention: it means Bitcoin's short-term, medium-term, and long-term momentum are all agreeing at once, historically a sign that a recovery has real staying power rather than being a temporary bounce.
But the honest history here is genuinely mixed, not uniformly bullish:
October 2020 — this exact alignment appeared with BTC around $13,600. It held until May 2021, during which Bitcoin rallied to over $64,000.
June 2025 — the same alignment formed and lasted 97 days, but Bitcoin only crept from about $106,000 to $112,000, a comparatively weak move.
Right now, BTC sits near $85,000 to $86,400 after a 40% Q3 rally that's since cooled, with resistance holding firm near $87,000 and a stronger dollar adding pressure.
Analysts are clear this signal isn't a guarantee — it's confirmation that a recovery has held up, not a prediction of what comes next. Whether BTC can keep holding above its 50-day average is what actually determines if this turns into something bigger.
Does this alignment feel more like October 2020 setting up a major move, or June 2025's underwhelming follow-through? 👇
