This 72-hour US-brokered pause (same format as Victory Day 2025, timed with Witkoff & Kushner landing in Moscow) was designed to do two things at once:

1. THE THEATER: Short pause = prisoner exchange optics + blame game as it expires. No enforcement mechanism = violations are guaranteed. This tests willingness for real talks.

2. THE TELL: While Kyiv was quiet, a separate IAEA-brokered ceasefire kicked in to restore external power at Zaporizhzhia.

That's the strategy: Separate the energy front from the kinetic front. Pause Kyiv to look diplomatic, but keep Zaporizhzhia from blackout to avoid a nuclear incident that would force NATO's hand.

Donbas artillery never stopped.
