#SpaceXSharesRiseTo$140 Update: SpaceX
IPO
HISTORY:
On 12 June 2026,
SpaceX
made history with the largest IPO ever.
The IPO raised $75 billion and valued
SpaceX at roughly $1.77 trillion. Demand was so strong that the underwriters had made additional shares
available, bringing the total amount raised to over $85 billion.
THE CHART:
SpaceX has so far looked like a classic IPO pump-and-dump.
SpaceX priced its IPO at $135 and opened at $150. It then surged to an all-time high of $225.64 on its third trading session, that's a 67% gain from the IPO price.
Traders took profits, and the stock sold off 53.5%, falling to an all-time low of $104.83 on 3 August.
It still remains 38% below its ATH at $140.
THE THESIS:
Looking forward, with Anthropic and OpenAI potentially coming to market next, each new shiny mega-AI IPO could end up cannibalising the others as investors rotate capital from project to the next.
The post-IPO price action of these mega-IPOs could end up looking similar.
BITCOIN:
Interestingly, SpaceX also disclosed 18,712 BTC on its balance sheet. Other IPOs may do something similar to generate additional interest from the crypto community.
