**Robinhood Adds $25 Million of Bitcoin to Its Balance Sheet**Robinhood Adds $25 Million of $BTC Bitcoin to Its Balance Sheet On October 7, 2026, Robinhood Markets disclosed that it had purchased approximately $25 million worth of Bitcoin for its corporate balance sheet—the first time the publicly traded brokerage committed its own capital to holding BTC as a proprietary asset. The announcement came from Johann Kerbrat, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Crypto and International, during an interview at the Digital Asset Summit Asia in Singapore. Kerbrat described the move as a strategic signal of alignment rather than a major treasury program. “We care deeply about $BTC bitcoin and the ecosystem around it,” he said. “For us, it’s more aligning our company and our vision with the crypto community.” In a follow-up post on X he added that the firm views the purchase as part of overall asset diversification and believes firmly in crypto’s future. The allocation is deliberately modest. With Robinhood’s market capitalization near $100 billion and more than $5.3 billion in cash and equivalents reported earlier in 2026, the $25 million position represents roughly 0.025 percent of the company’s value. Estimates place the holding at about 290–300 BTC based on prices around $84,000–$85,000 at the time, though the exact figure awaits confirmation in the next quarterly SEC filing. The decision followed nearly a year of internal discussion. In November 2025, executives had publicly weighed the pros and cons of a Bitcoin treasury strategy, noting both the benefit of aligning with crypto customers and the opportunity cost of deploying capital that could otherwise fund product development or growth. Importantly, the new corporate holding is distinct from the roughly $25 billion in customer crypto assets Robinhood already custodians. On-chain data shows the platform oversees approximately 185,000 BTC (valued at about $15.5 billion) plus other digital assets on behalf of users. Those customer assets do not create direct price exposure for the company; the $25 million purchase does. The move coincides with Robinhood’s broader crypto expansion, including the development of Robinhood Chain (an Ethereum Layer 2 with more than $1 billion in total value locked), tokenized stock products, plans for perpetual futures, and additional DeFi integrations. Kerbrat noted that while the Bitcoin currently sits as a simple holding, the company may find further uses for it in the future. Industry observers largely characterized the purchase as symbolic. It places Robinhood among more than 170 public companies that hold Bitcoin on their balance sheets, yet the size remains far smaller than specialized treasury firms such as Strategy. Accounting changes under FASB rules have made fair-value treatment of crypto assets more straightforward, removing earlier disincentives. Social media reaction focused on the signal value of a major retail platform putting its own capital into Bitcoin, while acknowledging the limited financial impact. In summary, Robinhood’s $25 million Bitcoin allocation is a measured expression of strategic commitment. It demonstrates skin in the game without transforming the company’s capital structure or business model, reinforcing its growing role in the crypto ecosystem while remaining consistent with prudent treasury management. $BTC {spot}(BTCUSDT) #RobinhoodAdds$25MInBitcoinToBalanceSheet

#RobinhoodAdds$25MInBitcoinToBalanceSheet Robinhood Now Owns Bitcoin Itself, Not Just Its Customers' Bitcoin Robinhood has spent years letting millions of users buy crypto. This week it disclosed that it has put some of its own money in too. Here's what happened: on October 7, Johann Kerbrat, Robinhood's senior vice president and general manager of crypto and international, said the company has added $25 million of Bitcoin, roughly 294 BTC, to its corporate balance sheet. It's the first time the brokerage has held BTC on its own books, separate from the roughly 185,000 BTC it custodies for customers. Kerbrat framed the purchase as a way to align the company with the crypto community, and he was candid about its size: against a market cap near $100 billion, he said it won't change the company's trajectory much. Reports put it at under 0.5% of Robinhood's cash balance, and nothing suggests a recurring buying program. The move comes as Robinhood widens its crypto footprint, with perpetual futures plans for eligible US customers and its own blockchain infrastructure. Why does this matter? The dollar amount is small, but the signal is notable: a mainstream consumer-finance platform is now treating Bitcoin as something worth holding, not just something to facilitate. It's also a very different approach from Strategy's, which raises capital specifically to keep accumulating. Whether this stays a symbolic allocation or grows into something larger is unclear. Does a modest, no-strings position like this say more about conviction, or about caution? 🤔 #bitcoin #Robinhood #CorporateTreasury #CryptoAdoption $BTC $MET $BSP {future}(BSPUSDT) {future}(METUSDT) {future}(BTCUSDT)

Robinhood just put $25M of Bitcoin on its own balance sheet. This caught my attention less because of the size and more because of what it says about Robinhood’s direction. The company has confirmed that it purchased around $25 million worth of BTC using its own corporate funds. This is different from the Bitcoin Robinhood holds or facilitates for customers. $25M is relatively small compared with Robinhood’s overall financial position, so this is not a major treasury bet like Strategy’s approach. But the signal is interesting. Robinhood has been moving deeper into crypto through its wallet, blockchain infrastructure, tokenized assets and other products. Now, the company is also putting some of its own capital behind Bitcoin. I think the important question is what happens next. If this remains a one-time allocation, it is mainly a statement of confidence in Bitcoin and the broader crypto economy. But if Robinhood starts adding BTC regularly, today’s $25M could look very different in hindsight. For now, I wouldn’t call Robinhood a Bitcoin treasury company. I’d call this a small but meaningful step from offering crypto exposure to taking crypto exposure itself. #RobinhoodAdds$25MInBitcoinToBalanceSheet $BTC $MET $SUI {future}(SUIUSDT) {future}(METUSDT) {future}(BTCUSDT)
