What’s especially interesting is that this is the first time there’s been a coal-fired power plant REIT, and traditional infrastructure is starting to get securitized as well. Although on the surface it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with crypto, think about it carefully—doesn’t this essentially amount to “tokenization” in the real world? Cutting massive assets like real estate and power plants into smaller shares and selling them to ordinary people is fundamentally the same idea as tokenization in blockchain. Traditional finance moving in this direction may well accelerate people’s acceptance of the concept of crypto tokenization in the future.
