$BIP.US 110 Fork Falls 300+ Blocks Behind Bitcoin
Bitcoin’s BIP-110 minority chain is struggling to gain mining support, producing only two blocks since the split while the main Bitcoin network has added more than 300.
The fork is now 326 blocks behind, with its low hashpower leaving the chain effectively stalled. Because it inherited Bitcoin’s mining difficulty, reaching the 2,016-block adjustment threshold could take more than six years at its current pace.
BIP-110 aims to restrict the use of Bitcoin transaction space for non-financial data such as images and text. The proposal received only around 2.6% miner signaling, far below the required threshold.
The key question: Can BIP-110 attract enough miners to survive, or will this minority chain fade away? 👀
