This afternoon, $BTC is holding steady at $82,700–83,000 (+1.3%). The big news: short sellers got crushed — $125 million liquidated in an hour, and open interest broke through $53.9 BILLION. That’s what you call a short squeeze: price ticks up → shorts panic and close their positions → they BUY back → price rises again → other shorts panic too. A vicious cycle for the shorts 😅
For those unfamiliar: a squeeze is NOT a blind-buy signal. Often, after a squeeze, the price needs to “catch its breath.” The nearest resistance is $83,200–83,550, with support at $82,000. According to Hashdex, the bearish phase is almost over — BUT $BTC needs to reclaim $84K before the Oct. 27–28 FOMC meeting for a real rally to take off.
Supporting catalysts: Strive bought 2,822 $BTC, AI stocks (SpaceX +8%, Super Micro +16%) are hot, $ETH also rose to $2,450, $XRP +3%, $DOGE +3%, and $ZEC surged +11% to $1,260 on the NU7 upgrade (block time: 75 seconds → 25 seconds!).

This afternoon, $BTC is holding steady at $82,700–83,000 (+1.3%). The big news: short sellers got crushed — $125 million liquidated in an hour, and open interest broke through $53.9 BILLION. That’s what you call a short squeeze: price ticks up → shorts panic and close their positions → they BUY back → price rises again → other shorts panic too. A vicious cycle for the shorts 😅
For those unfamiliar: a squeeze is NOT a blind-buy signal. Often, after a squeeze, the price needs to “catch its breath.” The nearest resistance is $83,200–83,550, with support at $82,000.
