If you're still treating JPMorgan putting $JPMD on Ethereum mainnet like a press release, stop now.
Most traders either chase the headline or fade it and get the timing wrong. The loss is not the news itself. It is exiting before anyone can tell whether bank flow ever actually shows up on the public chain.
The skeptical read has the receipts. Kinexys has settled more than $4 trillion cumulative, and almost none of that volume runs on public Ethereum yet. The deposit token routes through a platform doing $7 billion a day, with permissioning as the real catch.
$ETH at $2,405, down 4.6% on the week, looks like a market that heard the announcement and kept walking.
The other read is about path, not today's print. The biggest bank in the US picked this chain, and banks do not deploy on networks they plan to leave. The first wave can stay closed, but the bid is in the reflexivity. One live bank coin makes the next one a copy instead of a theory. I lean that way. The week is red and the usage is not here yet, which is exactly why the signal gets ignored until it is obvious.
Do you think the market is right to wait for public volume, or is the chain choice already the tell?
