The acting head of state explained that the increase in electric generation capacity is supported by agreements signed with international companies to strengthen national infrastructure.
The President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, ordered the execution of a plan to recover thermoelectric generation with the incorporation of an additional 4,800 megawatts before the end of the year.
“I have requested specific plans. The first plan is a project to recover thermoelectric generation, so that by the end of this year we will have an additional 4,800 megawatts of thermoelectric generation available,” Rodríguez stated, according to a note from the official AVN agency.

Deal with an Argentinian company will kick off the civil and engineering works
Caracas-. The national government confirmed the formal restart of civil and engineering works at the Manuel Piar Hydroelectric Central complex, located in the southern Bolívar state. The works will proceed following the signing of a technical agreement with the Argentinian company Industrias Metalúrgicas Pescarmona S. A.
The comprehensive reactivation plan includes the installation of ten generators that will add 2,640 megawatts to the National Electric System through a phased execution projected to take 14 to 19 months to complete the initial construction and technical coupling phases in the southern region.
