The funniest thing about this CONSO BOTS saga: the project says it wants to turn social interactions into on-chain reputation, but its own promotion campaign is a textbook case of engagement farming.

I looked through a batch of posts on X from late September, and a bunch of accounts were posting the exact same line: "CONSO BOTS are Agentic Validators... powered by user-operated Mobile Nodes". Almost word for word, with 3, 5, or 6 views. One even said, "Most bots farm. CONSO bots verify." Bro, that slogan itself was farmed.

On October 22, the 5,555 free mints on Sui ended. The rules guaranteed spots to early contributors, with the rest allocated by lottery based on impressions. It got so hot, supposedly, that it crashed the X API. Handing out spots based on impressions is basically an open invitation to farm them. Now the team says it’ll audit things and cut accounts that farmed impressions, and the comments are full of applause. But you made the rules and recruited the farmers. Picking a few to cut afterward—is that fairness? Or just clearing out inventory?

And looking further ahead, this “reputation” comes with a 25% mining boost in the Miner app. In plain English, it’s another points scheme: your posts are its marketing budget, and your time is its cold-start fuel.

Free stuff is fine, but don’t spend real money on the secondary market for a buzzword like “agentic validator.” When a project sells reputation, first look at how it earned its own.
