Bedrock DAO is a governance framework to manage decisions within the Bedrock ecosystem. It allows BR token holders to participate in governance by converting BR into veBR, a deposit token with voting rights. Governance decisions include protocol parameters, incentive structures, and liquidity allocation.

Governance Model

The governance system is based on veBR, which is obtained by locking BR tokens at a 1:1 ratio. The longer the lock-up period, the greater the voting power. veBR holders vote on governance proposals, including allocations of indicators that determine the distribution of incentives among liquidity pools.

A seasonal reset mechanism ensures periodic redistribution of voting power. At the end of each season, all voting power resets to a baseline level, allowing new participants to engage without long-term holders accumulating disproportionate influence.

DAO Transition

Initially, the Bedrock team will set up the DAO and maintain administrative control of the contract. Over time, governance control will pass to veBR holders, enabling the DAO to independently manage protocol updates, incentive structures, and other governance functions.
