After falling for a month, does XAN think it can turn things around with a single +43% day?
Let me give you my conclusion first: I’m taking the cautious side. This is a rebound, not a reversal.
Let’s start with the data.
XAN perpetuals are up 43.39% over 24 hours, currently at 0.010969, after peaking at 0.013143.
Futures trading volume is $116 million across 2 million trades. The funding rate is -0.102% per 8 hours, meaning shorts are paying 0.31% a day.
Open interest is 386 million XAN, with about $4.24 million on the line.
This move started at 7 p.m. last night.
One hourly candle shot from 0.00859 to 0.010127 on volume of 399 million tokens. At 4 a.m. today, it touched 0.01266.
It tested above 0.0131 twice, at 7 and 8 a.m., then turned and slid to 0.010607.
That’s a 19% pullback from the high. Anyone who chased the morning rally has already taken a slap in the face.
Let me lay out the bulls’ case for them.
Anoma is a cross-chain intent layer focused on programmable privacy, without relying on the traditional cross-chain bridge model.
Governance V2 went live on September 16, kicking off DAO operations and letting token holders vote on supply, treasury, and governance parameters.
Starting September 29, balances locked in the old governance system began unlocking linearly over three years.
According to a KuCoin news brief, this rally reflects renewed market interest sparked by the privacy product and governance upgrade.
And with funding rates in the negative, shorts are paying every day, which does give the bulls some fuel.
Now I should lay out the bears’ case too.
First, all the catalysts being brought up today are old developments from September. I looked around and couldn’t find any new announcement today.
Second, XAN spent all of October grinding lower. Today’s green candle has only interrupted the downtrend.
KuCoin itself also noted that the price has yet to reclaim the main trading range established in September.
Third, it failed to hold above 0.0131 on both morning attempts, then gave back gains and fell to around 0.011. That’s a spike and a pullback, not a breakout.
My view is that this is a rebound, not a reversal.
Old news can spark a rally, but whether it can keep going depends on whether the price can reclaim 0.013143.
If it can’t hold there, anyone who chased in today has only made money on an intraday swing—and could end up paying for it.
BTC is also up 1.83% today, at 81276. The broader market isn’t holding it back, but XAN is clearly out in front this time, and moving too fast can leave it out of breath.
Here are two scenarios.
If it holds above 0.013143, then I’ll buy the case for a second leg up, with new highs next.
If it breaks below 0.010607, today’s move is over. First I’d look at 0.009325, and if that breaks, we could head back to the pre-rally area around 0.0088.
I’m watching from the sidelines for now. I can’t bring myself to chase at this level.
That long upper wick this morning was crystal clear to me. Chasing here is just volunteering to catch the pullback.
If it breaks below 0.010607, I’ll consider the rally well and truly over. No second-guessing.
Does reclaiming 0.013143 kick off a second leg of the reversal, or does a break below 0.010607 kill the move and send it back to 0.0093?
I’m betting on the latter. What about you?
