$BTC history shows something important: markets can spend far more time moving sideways than trending in one direction.

🧮 2021–2022 Bear Market
🔻 Total duration: Approximately 290–345 days
📉 Strong downtrend: Around 40–45 days
↔️ Ranging and consolidation: Around 250–300 days

🚀 Previous Bull Market
🟢 Total duration: Approximately 850–950 days
📈 Strong uptrend: Around 200–250 days
↔️ Ranging and consolidation: Around 650–700 days

💡 What does this tell us?

✅ Strong directional moves may account for only a fraction of a market cycle.
✅ Consolidation can last much longer than traders expect.
✅ Sideways price action doesn’t automatically mean the trend is finished.
✅ Patience and risk management matter just as much as identifying the trend.

⚠️ One important detail: These durations depend on how we define an uptrend, downtrend, and consolidation. They are estimates, not universal historical measurements. Recent Binance Research has also warned that a strong BTC rebound alone does not confirm that a market bottom is in.

🎯 My takeaway: Don’t focus only on how far Bitcoin moves. Pay attention to how long the market spends trending versus consolidating. That perspective can help traders avoid chasing every breakout or panicking during every correction.

Do you think $BTC is preparing for another major trend, or could extended consolidation come first? 👇
