Immigrant Business Owners Just Sued the Progressive Mayor Who Undercut Them
An immigrant-led business group is suing Ugandan Mayor Mamdani after he launched five government-funded grocery stores that undercut private prices by 30% using taxpayer money.
The Multicultural Business Coalition, representing entrepreneurs from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, says the city stores are destroying their livelihoods. They also accuse Mamdani of refusing to sit down with them.
These are the same communities progressive policies often claim to protect. Instead of partnership, the mayor’s approach created direct competition funded by public dollars. Small family businesses that built themselves without subsidies now face a taxpayer-backed rival they cannot match on price.
The lawsuit forces a basic question into the open: when government steps into the market as a competitor, who actually benefits, and who pays the price?
Today, all eyes are on the FOMC decision, as it is likely to determine the market’s next major move. Volatility is expected to be high, so it’s important to stay patient and manage your risk.
Here’s my view on $BTC .
$BTC is currently holding a key support level and showing some signs of strength. However, I don’t believe this necessarily means the market is ready for a major breakout. In my opinion, this could be a move to attract late long positions before the real direction unfolds.
$BTC is currently trading around $64K, and I think there’s a chance we see a push toward the $66K–$67K region. If that happens, I expect a strong reaction from that area and the possibility of a deeper pullback afterward.
For today, I’m staying on the sidelines. FOMC events often create unpredictable price action, and waiting for the market to settle is usually the safer approach.
Sometimes the best trade is no trade at all. Let the market reveal its direction first, then look for high-probability opportunities.
This is simply my personal market view, not financial advice.
